What is the Diversity Committee?
Riverview Elementary Diversity Committee is a subcommittee of the RVES PTO. It is a committee designed to educate our students, staff and parents about the diverse world around us, provide opportunities within the school year to grow as a student body and educational opportunities that incorporate our local community.

Who is part of the committee?
The Diversity Committee is comprised of parents of our special needs students and those in the general education population of Riverview. Administrators and a variety of staff members also create the make-up of this committee.
What is Diversity Week?
Each year we look to celebrate our diversity at Riverview with a week long celebration in the spring, spotlighting what makes individuals unique and special. We are also going to continue our annual 5K and provide our parents and staff some educational opportunities.
This year our Diversity Week will kick off with our 5k run on Saturday, March 28th. It will continue Monday 3/30-3/31-Friday 4/3. All culminating with a spectacular send off to our Special Olympians. More details will follow once we get closer!
Why do we have a Diversity Committee?
This committee was created to enhance the beautiful world of inclusion, across ALL ability levels, for our Riverview Rockets.
How can I get involved?
We are open to feedback, questions and/or concerns at anytime. There will be volunteer opportunities at our 5K event each year. We also look forward to your participation in our educational opportunities.
Our first Diversity Committee Meeting will be August 30th at 9am! ALL our welcome to join!
